Lomas Barbudal Biological Reserve
Known as the “Garden of Costa Rica,” this biological reserve is a biodiversity paradise, famous for its incredible variety of native bees and endemic plants. Located in a tropical dry forest environment, Lomas Barbudal is notable for its rare flora and fauna and for protecting important natural habitats.
Activities: The reserve offers guided nature walks to learn about native flora, including flowering trees, cacti, and other species adapted to dry climates. Nature photographers will find an ideal destination here, capturing colorful butterflies, exotic birds, and, during certain seasons, unique bee species native to the region. Near the reserve, the Llanos Falls provide a beautiful spot for swimming and relaxing in nature.
